Installation Process
Your service has been installed and now you are ready to connect your computer and experience VMMICRO.NET high speed Internet connectivity.

To connect to VMMICRO.NET, you will need the following:
  • Compatible personal computer* with Ethernet port or router or hub
  • Category 5 patch cable (Cat-5 cable) - to extend from the VMMICRO.NET wall jack to your computer Ethernet jack

    Let’s get started! By following the steps below, you should be up and running in no time!

    Single computer users:

    Notify VMMICRO.NET of your MAC address if you haven’t already done so.
    Plug one end of the Cat-5 cable into the VMMICRO.NET wall jack.
    Plug the other end into your NIC.
    Reboot your computer and launch your Internet browser. You should now have lightning-fast service!
    If your browser does not connect to the Internet, follow the "Configuring Internet Explorer" instructions on the back of this page. Then, try launching the browser again.

    Multiple computer users:
    Note: If you are connecting multiple computers, you will need to provide your own router.

    Notify VMMICRO.NET of the MAC address of your router if you haven’t already done so. For more information, consult the owner’s manual of your router.
    If you are using a router it will need to be configured prior to using it. For information of how to configure your router consult your owner's manual.
    Plug one end of the Cat-5 cable into your VMMICRO.NET wall jack.
    Plug the other end into the WAN jack on your router.
    Note: A hub or switch is not a router.
    If your router is also a switch, make sure each of your computers is plugged into one of the LAN ports. For more information, consult the owner’s manual of your router.
    If your router does not contain a switch, plug the LAN port on your router into your switch. Make sure that all of your computers are plugged into the switch. For more information, consult the owner’s manual of your router.
    Reboot your router.
    Reboot each computer and launch your Internet browser. You should now have lightning-fast service!

    *Compatible personal computers include those with Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98 and most 95 machines as well as Macintosh and Linux workstations. Each computer must support TCP/IP and have it installed in addition to an available Ethernet port. If your computer does not have an Ethernet port, you should be able to add a network card (NIC). Network cards are available at computer and electronics stores as well as via numerous online merchants.
